Committee Information
Tasks of selected committees mentioned in the By-Laws are summarized below. Beginning in October this year at this location a short summary will be presented of the accomplishments of each committee, updated not less frequently than once a quarter.
The Communication Committee will update the web-site and disseminate meeting information. The committee will also coordinate contacts with the media on behalf of the Society, as needed.
The Environmental Committee organizes volunteer monitoring of lake water quality with the County, State, and Federal officials, and also handles any other environmental issues that affect the watershed of creeks that feed the reservoir.
The Special Projects Committee handles matters pertaining to the reservoir's infrastructure, such as the dam, sewer lines, silt deposits, storm debris, etc.; and also appoints volunteers to take care of special situations, such as the 2005 alligator situation. |
